Next Chapter: Fostering

For 1.5 years, we were blessed to have our little foster children live with us. At the end of December, they were able to move into the same home with their youngest sibling. The opportunity for adoption is on the horizon for their new family and we pray that goes the way God intends.

Many people ask us how we feel. We so appreciate everyone’s concern for our well-being, truly! Our response is that we are just fine. Do we miss them? Absolutely, and we want the best for them! For months early in the placement, we prayed almost daily for God to reveal the forever home for these precious little two who have endured so much. Forever home meant so many things to us, but mainly: reunite them with their mom should she recover, change our hearts and make it clear to us if it was our family, or provide a family who is supposed to adopt them. In the summer, it was clear that it was not us. We had peace in this.

Once we were able to finally settle on knowing this was God’s will and stopped testing Him over and over, we decided to make the best of the season they were with us. We believe we were to invest in them for the time we had them while preparing them for a transition sometime in the future.

Although we have a lot more to say about this topic, we wanted to say thank you for now! Thank you to the scores of people who have supported us, prayed for us, provided us wisdom, cheered us on, and embraced our family through the different seasons!
