God’s Pit Crew deployed on 8/28 to head to Lake Charles, Louisiana with supplies to distribute and with the immediate response team & equipment. Volunteering will begin 8/29 and we have committed to 9/5/2020 with a high possibility of extending our response...stay tuned. Lake Charles was the hardest hit area and every neighborhood has been impacted for miles on end. Please pray on how you can contribute to restoring others lives!

Chris is traveling to assess a potential new site for a safe house project.

Chris and a small team of Eight Days of Hope leaders are headed to partner with Love Acadiana once again to Love the Schools in Lafayette Parrish. This is a pre-trip to assess each school part of the 2020 event.

The primary goal of our Rapid Response team is to show the Love of Jesus Christ to disaster victims 48-72 hours after a disaster strikes anywhere in the contiguous 48 states. The means of meeting this goal will be through clearing debris, tarping roofs, gutting water-damaged homes and salvaging personal property. These are the most basic immediate actions necessary to preserve property and livelihood. In so doing, the volunteers seek to build bonds with homeowners, community leaders and other disaster relief organizations for immediate relief and in hope of laying a foundation for future disaster-recovery efforts.

Its an honor to represent 8DOH at the upcoming disaster relief roundtable in Birmingham, AL. Such a great opportunity to continue networking with other key organizations with the same heart and mind: love and serve others in the name of Jesus!

1,000 students and adults in our community will gather to worship and learn together. We are excited to see what God will be up to during this weekend. We are praying that our hearts would be open to the leading of what God wants to do through our students and through our community. Would you join us in prayer this weekend?

DeSoto County, MS recently experienced extensive damage to their community. Two tornadoes, one an EF-1 and the other an EF-2, destroyed multiple homes and damaged many more in the area. Eight Days of Hope plans to serve those that have lost so much from January 16th until January 31st. We are committed to serve for two full weeks with a possibility to extend if needed.
