This is the season...
Last semester, God put on my heart to pray earnestly that we (as a Church) would hunger and thirst for Him. Constantly praying for a changed heart, a heart that is purged of my flesh and filled with His Spirit. In the course work, there was much emphasis in repenting and learning to walk in deeper faith. The more I focused on Him, the less I fed my flesh. Sounds easy, but it’s definitely a daily and minute-by-minute challenge. Although I fail often, I dust off my knees, and get up to pursue Him.
There’s two verses that have been constantly on my mind: “For my people have committed a double evil: They have abandoned me, the fountain of living water, and dug cisterns for themselves — cracked cisterns that cannot hold water.” Jeremiah 2:13 CSB.
This tells me to stop trying to do it on my own. Tap the source of the true living water.
The next verses came up again in a recent study, which fan into flame my prayers the past months. But, this time it hit a little closer to home. Who knew this prayer could be answered by a rapidly spreading virus 🦠 Now we have a choice to make, how are we going to respond as individuals and corporately? . “I gave you absolutely nothing to eat in all your cities, 👉🏼a shortage of food in all your communities👈🏼, yet you did not return to me. This is the Lord’s declaration. I also withheld the rain from you while there were still three months until harvest. I sent rain on one city but no rain on another. One field received rain while a field with no rain withered. “Two or three cities staggered to another city to drink water but were not satisfied, yet you did not return to me. This is the Lord’s declaration.” Amos 4:6-8 CSB .
“I gave you absolutely nothing to eat in all your cities, a shortage of food in all your communities, yet you did not return to me.
Lord help us to repent and turn back to You, our true source of living water. A water that only satisfies us to the core. In Jesus name, amen . #covid_19 #coronavirus #livingwater #turntogod #jesus
