Finding my way to health
In the past year, I have taken an active approach to tackle inflammation that has been haunting me since I was in high school (so for a few decades now). Plus I had a friend called Rosacea visit me about five years ago which really threw me for a loop! Every doctor I would consult, tested me for everything under the sun: rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, blood clots, etc. But I was always told that I was “too healthy for my own good.” The only problem is that I didn’t feel good when I couldn’t slip on my favorite pair of shoes or when I had to wear jeans in the heat of the summer because my legs were so swollen I didn’t want to bring attention to them. No diagnosis often left me more frustrated because I wanted a name or a path for me to research. I had to find a solution and take charge of my health!
But I was always told that I was “too healthy for my own good.”
I tried all kinds of things, I paid for subscriptions to workout programs, clean-eating challenges, 21-day Daniel Fasts, which all helped. It was all part of my journey to break cycles of sugar dependencies. I’ve been able to receive great wisdom from working with my Naturopathic Doctor who I found gave consultations over Skype. Something was different about her approach…she wanted me to be healed with what God has given us…through food. This was a change, after trying tons of supplements, tinctures, and such, she spent 80% of the time talking to me about liver health and how to heal it through food.

Its through this approach, I was able to identify foods that harm my system and foods that help my system. I was thankful for her advice and the ability to address a life-long struggle. Additionally, I appreciated the fact that I wasn’t on high doses of medicines or even natural remedies that were too complicated to maintain.
